Why am I not losing weight on Wegovy (semaglutide)?

There could be many reasons why a person is not losing weight while on Wegovy® (semaglutide). Age, amount of regular exercise, dietary habits, and other medical conditions that impact weight can play a role in why someone may not be losing weight on semaglutide or other weight loss medications. In fact, a study found that approximately 17% of people taking Wegovy did not lose at least 5% of their body weight by the end of the 68-week study. Typically we would expect at least 5% body weight loss after 3 months on the medication, but in some cases, people do not experience significant weight loss until they are on the highest approved doses of this medication.
