How Long Does It Take For Saxenda To Work?

The time it takes for Saxenda® to work will vary from person-to-person. With Saxenda, you start on a low dose and increase slowly in order to reduce side effects from the medication. Some people will benefit from the medication right away while others may not notice any benefit until they are on a higher dose of the medication.

People taking Saxenda report a reduction in their hunger and feel full sooner. Some also report an improvement in their cravings for certain foods. As a result, they eat less and this helps them lose weight.  Saxenda should be used in combination with a reduced calorie diet and regular physical activity. If you are doing this and have not experienced at least a 4% reduction in your body weight after you’ve been on the highest dose of Saxenda for 3 months, you should discuss with your healthcare professional if this is the right medication for you.
