Can You Drink Alcohol on Zepbound™ (Tirzepatide)?

Disclaimer: The content made available on The FORM Website represents the views and opinions of the authors and not those of other entities, such as the manufacturers of products mentioned therein.

Drinking alcohol is generally not recommended when patients are taking Zepbound for weight loss. Zepbound is intended for use in combination with a low calorie eating pattern, and drinking alcohol can make it challenging to achieve this calorie reduction due to the fact that it is not a calorie-free beverage and by lowering inhibitions may lead to increased food consumption.  It’s also important to note that alcohol can lower blood sugar and in combination with Zepbound could potentially lower blood sugar levels even further.  It is important you discuss your alcohol intake when taking Zepbound with your provider as it may be advised to avoid alcohol completely.
