How to Switch from Saxenda® (Liraglutide) to Wegovy® (Semaglutide)
In order to switch from Saxenda® to Wegovy® you will have to transition from a daily injection (Saxenda) to a weekly one (Wegovy), and the transition should be done under careful supervision by your doctor to prevent adverse effects. Your doctor can also help decide on the starting dose of Wegovy as it may be possible to start at a higher dose (rather than the initial starting dose of 0.25 mg) depending on the dose of Saxenda® you are currently taking. Your prescribing medical provider will make specific recommendations on how to transition from one medication to the other. There are many different reasons why one might (or might not) transition from Saxenda to Wegovy, so it is best to discuss this with your medical provider if you are thinking you would like to make a change.
