How Long Do Mounjaro Side Effects Last?

Disclaimer: The content made available on The FORM Website represents the views and opinions of the authors and not those of other entities, such as the manufacturers of products mentioned therein.

How long side effects from your Mounjaro™ prescription last will depend on the individual.  Typically they are considered mild to moderate in severity and are usually seen when first starting the medication and with increases in the doses.  As the medication is long acting, side effects may last several days to weeks depending on the individual.  Common side effects include stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, diarrhea and constipation.  If you are having side effects while taking Mounjaro that are concerning or do not seem to be improving with time, be sure to discuss this with your doctor.  In some cases patients may be advised to stay at a dose for longer or decrease to a lower dose to allow more time for the body to adjust.
