Does Ozempic (semaglutide) need to be refrigerated?

Yes, Ozempic® needs to be refrigerated before it is used. If you have not yet opened your Ozempic pen, then you need to store it in the refrigerator (between 36°F to 46°F).  After the first use, you can either store your pen in the refrigerator (between 36°F to 46°F) or at room temperature (between 59ºF to 86ºF) for up to 56 days.  To see how long your Ozempic pen is good for before opening, check the expiration date on the packaging.  When giving yourself your injection, if you find that you are experiencing discomfort, you may want to allow the pen to come to room temperature first.
